TOKYO KOGAKU RE, Auto-Topcor 4/20

Cleaned and lubed... first outing,
Jpegs from a crop camera... sorry for the dirt on the sensor Embarassed

Lovely colors, neutral bokeh, typical barel distorsion, sharp, dosen't flare easily...
Short focus throw.... close focus ability (less than 30cm)
smaller than the 3.5/25.............. expensive, but worth it imho...

Very Happy owner !

I'd like to see this lens tested against others...

Wonderful. You now have 20mm and 25mm. Shocked

Looks very good to me! It has rear small screw in filters, right?

No, the 4/20 as filter threads.
I think that only the RE, Auto-Topcor 3,5/25, uses those small rear screw in filters...
Here is a picture of the 4/20, courtesy of the seller:

Although this is probably not the usage intended by the lens designers, and for what it's worth,
here's a series of boring wide open shots at the lens nearest focus point... (somewhere around 15cm)
with different back grounds...

Seems the lens isn't fast enough to separate the subject and background on most close up shots, although numbers 5 & 8 work well. Just can't have the background too busy or close. It's a great lens.

Looks good enough to keep an eye out for one, I seem to be collecting Topcors right left and center...
My 28/2.8 seems to have some issues at infinity, I'll have to look into it to see if something is out of place.
Good news is my 58/1.4 is awesome now that I've used it some more.
I am looking for the R 90 preset right now to go with my R 135/3.5 preset.
My LTM 50/2 Topcor-S needs a good cleaning, but it's sharp and has a nice rendering.
