Cons: Need an AF adjustments via TAP-in console (-3,-2,0 for my lens), dark viewfinder, longtitudal CA. AF is not so fast in dark rooms. No special rendering of sunstars in dark. can loose contrast in some strong contra-light scenes just out of frame. Slight overexposure in shiny snow lanscape photos. Seems that VR consume power when camera in sleep mode. VR practically works from 1/15s, carefully from 1/8s (on 36MP body). Image resolution not as crisp as 28/1.8 f/5.6.
Pros: Can be used in any scenerio right from f/1.8 with pro grade image quality. Good sharpness across whole frame. Very good (natural) rendering of OOF areas. Perfect handle for D800 sized body. Almost no AF errors in studio and reportage use. Have an af adjustments via TAP-in. No need for protective filter because dust and splash isn\'t collected on front lens. (Of course in normal conditions)
Summary: Great workhorse for FX. CA never ruined any real photo. AF can be trusted. I replace and sold nikon 50 f/1.4 and 28/1.8 and never regret.

Cons: Size and weight.
Pros: Image quality is very appealing. I'd say "delicate rendering", as contrast may be milder than with, say, recent Zeiss lenses. Users should not get blinded by absolute resolution figures (yes, Otus is better, so what). Perfect match for low noise cameras such as Nikon Df : aperture is for DOF (wide open, sharpness is good and even, and vignetting is low), speed is for freezing the movement, sensitivity is for exposure, so you get three nearly independent axis.
Summary: Wide range of usages, given its pictorial and optical qualities, weather sealing, close focus, and stabilization. Very convenient FL, by the way. At ease with portraits, social events (despite bulk and slow AF, but MF is good enough), architecture.
