I bought this lens for underwater use as it fits my glass dome. However I have to say that the use topside as landscape lens is extremely proficient and I have also used it on my DJI gimbal with great result in video. It does have some vignette but the level of distortion is very contained so that lens profiles are not required I also found the lens quite sharp considering the wide angle of view. Being a Tamron 28-75 owner, I bought this new 17-28 as soon as it reached the stores. I will not hide the fact I would have much preferred the classic 16-35/24-70 combo in focal lenght, but considering the price/quality ratio and the weight of these two lenses, I really can't complain. Overall, I am glad I did, though I would have loved this lens to reach down to 24mm FL at which I take the majority of my shots. Generally I use the Sony 16-35 for this - 24mm being one of its strengths, while 35 is clearly not. So, at 28mm + the Tamron fills a useful role. Compared to the Sony at for me.
