The UK-based creator of the world’s first portable pellet pizza oven has smashed crowdfunding targets, raising £40,000 in the first hour for its brand new Ooni Karu outdoor pizza oven.
Weighing just 12kg, Ooni Karu is a portable, powerful wood and charcoal-fired pizza oven for cooking authentic pizza in just 60 seconds. Reaching 500°C and ready to cook in 15 minutes, it can be loaded with real wood and/or charcoal for wood-firing stone-baked pizza, plus flame-cooked fish, vegetable and meat dishes.
Launched only yesterday at 4pm, the 30-day campaign has already raised £150,000 ($184,000), continuing the category-defining innovation the company is known for and offering their loyal community of Ooni users yet another game-changing pizza oven model. Ooni Karu directly responds to customers’ desire for new, exciting ways to cook with fire in any outdoor space. This new Kickstarter project follows the success of their larger Ooni Pro model, which raised over £500,000 in just five weeks through crowdfunding in 2017.
