Own this lens and I use it on a D800E. Not satisfied with sharpness/resolution at infinity. Below say 5-10 metres everything is great. Nikon repair centre in Solna Sweden says that there is nothing wrong with the lens. It is better than specifications which are from 1981 (I think). The lens is made in 2001. They also say that the resolution of the sensor in the D800E is higher than the resolution of the lens. Anyone who have tried the combination?
