Additional information:

The Nikon Nikkor-UD 20 mm f/ 3.5 non-Ai is an ultra wide-angle prime lens for Nikon F cameras. In the photos you can see the non-Ai version of the lens upgraded to Ai-d.

As opposed to the first wide-angle Nikon F lens (Nikkor-O 21 mm f/ 4) , this lens did not require the use of mirror lockup and could be used on all then Nikon SLR cameras.

On the other hand, the Nikon Nikkor-UD 20 mm f/ 3.5 has far larger dimensions than its predecessor.

Strengths:

Its a Brick.

Other than the filter ring, there are no weaknesses to this lens.

Its silky-smooth, and substantial in your hand, fastened to the camera, its nicely balanced.

Weaknesses:

I have noticed just a bit of flare, or specular highlights, if you hold your tongue just right, and have a strong source of light in your frame.

Comments:

I shoot a great deal of panaramas, real-estate, and scenics, and this is by far the best lens I have ever used for this type of photography.

Period of use: 3 months

Strengths:

Замечательный широкоугольный объектив Старый Школа))) Все "прелести" свойственные широкоугольникам, такие как ХА, дисторсия и виньетирование практически отсутствуют (во всяком случае незначительны). Сохраняет резкую картинку по краям. В сравнении с TOKINA 12-24/4 по всем параметрам отдаю предпочтение старому Nikkor. Прекрасно рисует облака и горные пейзажи. Локальные источники света превращает в лучистые звезды. В своем сегменте уступает только Nikkor 20/2 .8, но цена в 5-6 раз ниже!

Weaknesses:

Слабая контрастность (лечится в фоторедакторе).

На цифре невозможно управление диафрагмой, приходится выставлять экспопару "на глазок".
