The Nikon Nikkor 28-50 mm f/ 3.5 Ai-S is a kit zoom lens with constant lens speed for Nikon F cameras.

The lens is based on a push-pull scheme (focal length is changed by pushing or pulling the focus ring, the lens length is changing at the same time). It is multicoated.

In the macro mode the minimum focusing distance of the Nikon Nikkor 28-50mm f/3.5 Ai-S lens is reduced to 0.32 m, by so doing a 1:5.1 scale is achieved.
