Additional information:

The Olympus Zuiko Digital ED 150 mm  f/ 2  is a fast telephoto prime lens  for digital cameras with Four thirds (4/3) sensors.

Equivalent focal length:  300 mm.

It is a professional TOP PRO lens according toOlympus.  The lenses of this series have a constant aperture throughout  the whole range of  zooming; they are always dust  and moisture resistant; its optical scheme includes ED elements.  These lenses are remarkable for a platinum ring on the lens barrel.

It is interesting that the lens weight coincides with its focal length :)

In 2004 the lens got the first prize of the TIPA in the nomination “The Best High-End Lens”. The TIPA experts declared: “This E-system lens showed advantages of the Four Thirds standard, giving photographers the combination of powerful telephoto shooting and large aperture, which is impossible on 35 mm  cameras. With  optical design, optimized for digital photography, the lens confirms announcements made by Olympus to show advantages  of digital photography ...”

The Olympus ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 150 150 mm f/2.0 features a fast lens speed of 2.0 for a focal length like that, which makes it possible to use the lens in poor light condition and use depth of field with greater accuracy.

It is equipped with a 9-blade aperture.  It produces beautiful bokeh, as well as the other  Olympus lenses of this series. Circles of confusion are round.

There is a focusing distance switch and a focus lock button on the lens body.

The lens produces sharp image across the frame from f/ 2.8 onward. At f/ 2.0.  the image is slightly "soft". There are minimal drops in resolution on the edges.

The optical scheme includes17 elements in 11 groups, including 1 Super ED element and 1 ED element.  All major aberrations are very well corrected.

Focusing is internal with a floating mechanism.  The front lens does not rotate. Manual adjustment of sharpness is possible at any time by turning the focusing ring.

Color  rendering  is natural and saturated.  Contrast of images is high.

It handles well both side and back light.

The Olympus ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 150 mm f/2.0 is remarkably fit  for shooting  wildlife, sport events, remote subjects, as well as for fragment photography.

Depth of field:

A soft carrying case and a petal hood are included with the lens.

Compatible hood: LH-89
