Additional information:
The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 35 mm f/ 1.8 G DX is a compact all-purpose fast prime lens for Nikon DX cameras.
It is a good variant concerning a price-quality relationship.
It is possible to use it on DX cameras as a kit lens with a focal length of 52 mm.
The maximum aperture ratio of 1.8 enables shooting with a very shallow depth of field, as well as shooting in low-level-light conditions.
It is equipped with a rounded 7-blade aperture, which makes it possible to get rather beautiful blurring of out-of-focus areas (bokeh). Circles of confusion are close to the perfect circle.
The lens is already rather sharp even at f/1.8. It is very sharp from f/3.5 onward. Sharpness is good across the whole frame.
Vignetting and distortion are rather pronounced when wide open aperture. From f/2.8 they are already barely visible.
The optical scheme includes an aspherical element, which has a positive impact on minimizing aberrations and contrast rendering.
Focusing is internal. The front lens does not rotate, which enables the use of a polarizing or a gradient filter. Manual adjustment of sharpness is possible at any time by rotating the focus ring.
Color rendering is natural with slightly increased saturation. Contrast is high.
Built-in SWM (Silent Wave Motor) enables fast and quiet focusing. It focuses perfectly well in low-level-light conditions.
The NIKON AF-S DX NIKKOR 35 mm f/1.8G lens is well resistant to back and side light. In order to ensure a better image quality, it is recommended to use a hood.
Two focusing modes: M/A (autofocus with manual focusing priority) and M (manual focusing).
The NIKON AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G is a good kit lens for everyday use and for the types of photography where a shallow depth of field is important.
Compatible hood: HB-46
