Owner reviews: Vivitar Series 1 90-180 mm f/ 4.5 Flat Field

Period of use: 1 year

Strengths:

Sharp, beautiful color rendition, built like a tank, once focused you can zoom in or out without moving the camera or yourself. I personally love the bokeh. The ease of use. Great contrast and sharp sharp sharp especially at f8-f11.

Weaknesses:

Heavy but I use on a tripod with the built in tripod mount anyway.

Comments:

Love this lens, there are no words to describe how great this lens is. It is really sharp at the corners when stopped down. I use for macro, by the way you can use it on a bellows rail and can get 1:1 and more. No easy task on any lens. I use it on both my Canon t2i and my Nikon D2x. It even will work great on my Nikon D50. Mine is a M42 mount so I can use it on my Canon or Nikon cameras with adapters.
