Newcomer of 2010 - Canon EF 8-15mm f/4 L Fisheye USM – first zoom fisheye lens with L optics. Also with constant aperture on all range of zooming. While zooming, it change from diagonal to circular fisheye on full frame. Photographers, using Canon EF system, are free from hard choosing, what type of fisheye they need and they want to take or buy.
There are 14 elements in 11 groups (1 aspherical and 1 ultra-low dispersion (UD) elements) (for fixing chromatic aberrations and improving contrast and color) in optical scheme of this great lens.
All elements covered with Super Spectra for removing parasitic reflections inside the lens. Surface of the first element also covered with subwavelength structure coating (SWC). It reduced lens speed, so it decrease internal suppression of flare is on an extremely advanced level.
Also this lens have a water/dust protection, made of Fluoriteon front and rear elements of the scheme. It provided security from dust, dirt and water and will help with lens cleaning.
Canon EF 8-15mm f/4 L Fisheye USM have switch to the 2 crop standards (APS-C, APS-H) with appropriate limiters, what can save from unwanted vignetting.
Canon EF 8-15mm f/4 L Fisheye USM transfer data about distance to camera for correct working of external flash in ETL-II, but flash cant light all for this so wide angle.
In the package of Canon EF 8-15mm f/4 L Fisheye USM we have:
-
special front cap
-
hood EW-77 for F=15mm
