Additional information:
The Olympus OM-System Zuiko Auto-S 50 mm f/1.2 is an ultra fast prime lens for SLR Olympus OM cameras.
In 1982 it succeeded an ultra fast kit Zuiko 55/1.2 lens. A new variant worked outmore compact. The weight had reduced to 285g, the filter diameter had become equal with the majority filters of the system - 49 mm.
The optical scheme had retained, but due to more perfect glass, more accurate scheme calculation, the optical quality had improved and aberrations had minimized.
The lens was designed for poor light conditions, it is perfect for shooting indoors and outdoors during hours of darkness. Contrast and detailing are high, and thanks to multilayer coatingflare light decreased.
The lens has a characteristicout-of-focus spot , which is brighter on the edges, looking more like a ring than a disc and asa result bokeh looks rather contrastive.
