The Canon EF-S 60 mm f/ 2.8 Macro USM
The Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM is designed for EOS digital cameras lens with the APS-C image sensor and the EF-S bayonet mount. The lens focal length is equivalent to 96 mm for 35 mm cameras, and true magnification ratio is 1:1 during macrography, which is very close to the EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM results on a full frame - the most popular Canon prime macro lens.
The system of internal focusing consisting of three groups provides the lens length invariability during the focus ring rotation. That's why the lens is very convenient for shooting foreground subjects from a very close distance, and for macrography with two Canon flashes attached to the lens: Macro Twin Lite MT-24EX and Macro Ring Lite MR-14 EX.
The improved multilayer Super Spectra lens coating combats flare and halation which are results of considerable reflection of light from the image sensor plane. The coating, absorbing light and minimizing reflection from the lens internal surfaces, provides undistorted digital image with natural color balance.
The lens transmits distance information to the camera, providing compliance with remote metering when using the Speedlite 580EX E-TTL II flash
