The Vivitar 90-230mm f/4.5 Auto Tele T4-TX mount (Tokina) is a telephoto zoom lens with constant lens speed for 35 mm SLR cameras popular in the 1970-90s (by means of changeable T4/TX-mount).
The body is made of metal. It is equipped with a built-in hood and a ring with a tripod socket. Manufactured by Tokina (37 in serial number).
The lens pictured and described is the T4 version only. The Vivitar 90-230 f/4.5 lens came after in two distinct TX versions different from the T4 version. The first generation TX lens is a 11 elements in 7 groups optical design and its physical appearance is different from the T4 version. The 2nd generation TX lens is a close focus design with 13 elements in 9 groups and Ø62mm, its physical appearance differs from both the 1st generation TX lens as well as the T4 version.
