The optical scheme has been specially designed to achieve high optical performance even when wide open and to eliminate distortions characteristic of wide-angle lenses.
The metal lens body secures excellent optical elements against mechanical damages. The lens is equipped with the Quick Shift Focus System to quickly select between AF and MF modes. f A reliable focus drive mechanism has almost no plays and provides quick travel of optical elements during focusing operations.
The SMC Pentax DA 21mm f/3.2 AL Limited has been specially designed for PENTAX DSLR cameras with an equivalent focal length of 32 mm. It is ideally suitable for landscape and other types of photography which require an exaggerated perspective and a wide angle.
As well as the other Limited series lenses, remarkable for high quality and affordable price, the SMC DA 21mm is very compact, which provides exceptional mobility when shooting.
When mounted on a film camera, the SMC DA 21mm f/3.2 AL produces notable vignetting. There are no other restrictions on using the lens with film cameras.
