Nikon Nikkor 300 mm f/ 4.5 ED IF Ai Lens

The Nikon Nikkor 300 mm f/ 4.5 ED IF Ai is a telephoto prime lens for 35 mm SLR Nikon F cameras.

It is equipped with a built-in hood.

The Ai version has a minimum aperture of  f/22, the Ai-S version - f/32.

The rings move smoothly and easy. The focus ring rotates at approximately 300-320 degrees. As well as on some super-telephoto lenses, there is a slight override past infinity, i.e. the ring moves past the infinity sign.

The aperture ring  has no half-stop markings, i.e. 4.5-5.6-8-11-16-22(-32). As well as on the other Nikkor super-telephoto lenses the diaphragm is placed behind the rear element, which may cause accidental diaphragm clogging.

The Nikon Nikkor 300 mm f/ 4.5 ED IF Ai lens  is one of the lightest and smallest 300 mm lenses.
