The Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* 70-300 mm f/ 4-5.6 N is compact autofocus  telephoto  zoom lens for the Contax N system.

Expensive fluorite glass is used in its optical scheme. In the Contax N line of lenses  it was conceived as a complement to his fellow lens Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T * 3.5-4.5/24-85, thus covering most of the focal distances possible and enabling to take pictures of both landscapes and small animals.

The Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* 70-300 mm f/ 4-5.6 N cannot be converted to the Canon EF bayonet mount maintaining autofocus  and electrically controlled aperture.
