Period of use: 7 months

Strengths:

affordable, great image quality overall. what a kit lens should be.

Weaknesses:

as with most older lenses, loses some sharpness in the corners.

Comments:

I've only used this lens on film cameras, but it would be a fantastic lens for mirrorless cameras as well.

Period of use: 48 months

Strengths:

Like the non-X version.

Weaknesses:

Like the non-X version. Not great on 24MP APS-C due to soft corners.

Comments:

Again, a really spectacular dirt-cheap kit lens. This is what I always recommend people get as their first manual-focus lens for a mirrrorless.
