This is the first version of this lens.  It can be identified by the serial number which begins *64 (nominally 264xxxxx - 1982, and 364xxxxx - 1983)

It has a 'ZOOMLOCK' feature that allows the focal length to be set at a fixed position.

 

It differs from the similar lens without 'ZOOMLOCK' in that the front element does not rotate whilst focusing.

The second *69 and third *83 versions are similar in optical construction but are slightly shorter and lighter.
