Nikon AF Nikkor 85 mm  f/ 1.4 D Lens

The Nikon AF Nikkor 85 mm  f/ 1.4 D is a fast portrait lens. The f/1.4 aperture makes the lens ideal for shooting in low-light-level conditions and for shallow depth of field situations.

The lens features internal focusing and a 9-blade aperture, which provides quite good bokeh. Confusion circles of bokeh are round. 

Fast autofocusing of the Nikon AF NIKKOR  85 mm  f/ 1.4 D  makes it possible to shoot dynamic subjects and sports. It is already rather sharp when wide open. From f/ 4 onwards it is extremely sharp.

Within the portrait range of f/1.4 - 2.8, the lens produces rather soft and flexible picture. So, it may be considered a well-deserved portrait lens.

Some users note the Nikon AF NIKKOR  85 mm  f/ 1.4 D sensitivity to ambient light  and chromatic aberrations when wide open.
