The Leica Elmarit-R 135 mm f/2.8 is a portrait prime lens for 35 mm Leica R digital SLR cameras. It came in two versions.

The first version of the lens (1964-1968) featured Series VI filter threads in 1-cam, 2-cam and 3-cam variants. Weight: 655 g.

Marking: ELMARIT-R 1:2.8/135 LEITZ CANADA 2XXXXXX

The second lens modification (1968-1998) featured E55 filter threads. Weight: 730 g. ROM chip availability. Serial numbers: 2.296.351 − 3.689.430. As distinct from the first variant the later modification has a slightly different design of optical elements, which enables more contrasting images when wide open.
