The Samyang T-S 24 mm F3.5 ED AS UMC is a wide-angle full-frame lens fitted with the perspective control and tilt-shift functions.
The optical scheme comprises16 elements in 11 groups, including two aspherical and two ED glass elements. All the optical components are covered with multi-layered, anti-reflective UMC coatings.
The lens mechanism allows for smooth and fine adjustment of the focal plane by an angle of ± 8.5 mm and enables parallel shift of the optical axis by ± 12 mm. To make Tilt-Shift function even more seamless, both the lens mount and the Tilt-Shift section may be rotated on the optical axis. The Tilt-Shift section may be rotated left by 90 degrees (with 30 degree adjustment), while mount of the lens may be rotated both in left and right direction by 90 degrees (with 30 degree adjustment).
As the lens has been designed for full frame cameras, the camera+lens overall length remains the same for all camera formats. On mirrorless cameras the lens length has been increased in proportion to camera size decreasing. Effective focal length - 36 mm (crop)
The lens launch was announced on September 7, 2012. According to a company representative, the lens launch was postponed to March, 2013. The market launch in Russia was scheduled for May, 2013 at the price of $ 1,130. On October 16, 2013 the launch of the lens with the Sony E bayonet mount was announced. The lens would be compatible with Sony A7 and A7R full frame cameras.
