Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-42 mm f/ 3.5-5.6 Lens

The M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6  is a compact standard zoom lens for mirrorless Micro Four Thirds system cameras. First it was used as a kit lens for Olympus E-PL1 cameras. It is very compact. To bring the lens in its working mode two telescopic cylinders should be extended.

The lens is considered  to be one of Olympus' worst. Its optical performance (especially sharpness) is much inferior to the Olympus ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 14-42mm  f/3.5-5.6.After a year of production it was replaced with the enhanced   M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 14-42mm f / 3.5-5.6 II lens.

The  "II" index in its name signifies a considerable redesign of the lens: eight elements in seven groups and only one telescopic element.
