The M.DIGITAL ED 14-42mm F/3.5-5.6 IIis a compact zoom lens for digital mirrorless Micro Four Thirds system cameras. This is the second version of the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 14-42mm f/ 3.5-5.6 lens..

The lens has been considerably redesigned and has eight elements in seven groups and only one telescopic element.

With regard to its optical performance the lens is much superior to its predecessor.

In 2012 another modification was released - M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 II R.. The R index in the lens name signifies cosmetic exterior changes (see Photo 2).
