Additional information:
MC Peleng 17 mm f/ 2.8 A (Russian: "Пеленг") - is a multi-coated superwide-angle diagonal fisheye photographic lens (its angle of view is 180° in diagonal direction).
Produced by Belarus Optical & Mechanical Enterprise (BelOMO, Belorusskoe Optiko-Mechanichesckoye Obyedinenie) in Minsk, Belarus. Earlier this company called S.I.Vavilov Minsk mechanical plant.
The export version has mark "MC Peleng 2.8/17А". The version for ex-USSR is marked as "МСПеленг2.8/17А".
Currently it's quite rare. Could hardly be found on a secondary market.
Letter "A" in the name means that the lens has a changeable adapter (former USSR analog of T2-mount adapters). Two adapters for M42 and Nikon F are included in the set.
Aperture and focus controls are manual.
Captured images are sharp at F4. With more open diaphragms they are obviously "soft".
The MC Peleng 2.8/17А lens is easy-to-use at hyperfocal distance (one may forget about focusing).
The package includes a leather case and an optional set of optical filters that can be attached at rear side of this lens. It's unable to attach al filter at front side because of too prominent frontal lens element.
The quality of assembly is good. It seems very reliable because of its metal body. No backlashes. Good enough blackening of internal surfaces.
