The Tamron SP AF 28-75 mm f/ 2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF)(Model A09) is not just a fast lens. Compact size and light weight of this fast zoom lens cannot be achieved by means of traditional optical technologies. Only Tamron XR design makes it possible to achieve F/2.8 lens speed throughout a range of focal lengths of 28-75 mm in a very compact lens body, which makes this lens the smallest and lightest zoom lens in its class.
Special Di design makes the lens a basic choice for DSRL cameras, as its technical characteristics are specially optimized for them.
Generally, fast zoom lenses are not used as standard - they are too big and heavy. But this model is an exception in this respect. The lens can be used regularly, it shows equally fantastic performance both on digital and film SLR cameras.
The combination of XR, LD and aspherical glass elements considerably minimizes aberrations and other distortions. The Tamron SP AF 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) features internal focusing, which improves optical performance by minimizing vignetting and combating aberrations caused by focusing. Besides, it facilitates the use of filters, as the front element does not rotate.
The Tamron SP AF 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) design quality and highest optical performance are confirmed by numerous awards, including EISA "The Best Lens of the Year" in 2004 and CAPA "The Lens of the Year".
