The Tokina AT-X 535 PRO DX AF 50-135 mm f/2.8 (IF)is a fast zoom with constant lens speed throughout the entire range for digital SLR Canon EF-S and Nikon DX APS-C cameras and cannot be used for FF cameras. It was meant as a70-200 mm equivalent for cropped cameras, but lighter and more compact.
The front element of the Tokina AT-X 535 PRO DX AF 50-135 mm f/ 2.8 (IF)has a new WR coating (Water Repellent Optical Coating), facilitating cleaning of the front element from fingerprints and stains (water drops) in comparison with other standard multicoatings. The optical scheme includes three SD elements to eliminate chromatic aberrations.
TheTokina AT-X 535 PRO DX AF 50-135 mm f/ 2.8 (IF) is equipped with the so called One-touch Focus Clutch Mechanism, i. e. the choice between manual focusing and auto-focusing modes is realized with one touch. In order to switch autofocus mode you should slightly shift the focus ring forward. To engage manual focusing the focus ring should be shifted back to the camera. Switching requires some effort and is followed with a click sound. While switching, it is possible to defocus.
The lens body has a built-in tripod adapter. The lens is not moisture or dust resistant.
