The Olympus OM Zuiko AUTO-Zoom 35-80mm f/2.8 ED is a fast standard zoom lens for 35 mm SLR Olympus OM cameras.
Being one of the company's best achievements, the lens is a later product for the OM system.
The lens employs an original scheme to achieve the highest optical performance from open apertures onwards. As a result, this zoom lens is almost as good as prime lenses in terms of optical performance.
Featuring a two-touch design, the lens is rather heavy, but very well balanced with an OM camera. Filter diameter is unusual for the OM series - 62 mm. The lens comes complete with a plastic tulip-type bayonet hood.
Its fast lens speed provides a bright image in the viewfinder, enabling precise focusing.
The lens is rather rare on sale. Olympus produced about 3300 copies altogether.
The Zuiko 35-80 was also produced for Sinar cameras.
