Additional information:
The Olympus OM System Zuiko Auto-1:1 Macro 80mm 1:4 is a macro lens. The lens employs a symmetrical optical design, which ensures excellent sharpness and contrast, minimizing geometrical distortions. It has been designed in the first place for taking 0.5-2x macro scale pictures (field of view from 12x18mm to 48x72mm), though other scales are also available. However, the lens provides the best optical performance in the recommended range.
This is the world's first macro lens with an automatic diaphragm designed for life-size photography. Its predecessor, Zuiko 80/4 Macro, has no connection between the diaphragm and the camera.
There are two versions of the lens:
-
ZUIKO MC AUTO-1:1 MACRO 1:4 f=80mm
-
ZUIKO AUTO-1:1 MACRO 80mm 1:4
The Zuiko 80/4 Auto Macro may be used with the Auto Bellows or macro rings (with their overall length of not less than 25mm), or with the Telescopic Auto Tube 65–116. The lens has its own focus ring and helicoid.
With a 25 mm ring the Zuiko 80/4 Auto Macro can be used as a general-purpose lens (focusing on infinity).
The lens can be used with a special close-up filter (F=170 ), doubling the scale.
This is Olympus OM's most frequent and affordable special macro lens.
