The Leica Super-Elmar-M 18 mm f/ 3.8 ASPH is a superwide-angle fast multi-coated lens with almost completely corrected geometric distortion for Leica-M rangefinder cameras.
With angle of view of 100° it is fit for outdoor and indoor photography when wide open.
When used on cropped digital SLR cameras the Leica M8/M8 has an equivalent focal length of 24 mm.

Aberrations are well corrected. Vignetting is slight and visible only when wide open, while distortion is almost absent (maximum level of distortion does not exceed 1.8%).
