Additional information:
The Rokinon 500mm f/8.0 (model 500P) is a multicoated super telephoto prime lens for 35 mm SLR cameras (via the interchangeable T / T2 mount). The lens is completely analogous to the lenses with a corresponding optical design manufactured under different trade marks:
As for the Rokinon trade mark, the database has a detailed review of a similar model (Rokinon 500mm f/8.0 ED (model ED500P)), but they differ in the optical schemes they employ, in the use of low-dispersion elements for minimizing chromatic aberrations (ED model - better) and aperture control (ED model - fixed, ED500P - from f/8 to f/32).
The aperture ring has no stops on it. Stops are present on the locking ring. F-stop numbers on the locking ring:
-
F/8.0
-
F/11.0
-
F/16.0
-
F/22.0
-
F/32.0
The lens has no A/M mode selector, but the combination of the aperture ring free rotation and the locking ring makes it possible to manually stop down by any quantity up to the preset f/stop, while waiting for the desired result to appear in the viewfinder.
The lens may have 500-1000[mm] designation (complete with a converter) and postfixes indicating a mount adapter, e.g. "-Nex" for Sony E.
Manufacturer's recommended retail price varies from $139.00 to $249.95 (probably, it depends on packaging, as is the case with model 500-1000P for Nikon).
