Additional information:
The Canon EF 1200mm f/5.6L USM is a super telephoto prime lens for 35 mm SLR Canon EF cameras. It is the longest telephoto lens for Canon autofocus cameras. It is discontinued.
The optical scheme comprises 13elements in 10 groups, including two elements made of a large diameter artificial fluorite crystal. Though its optical design is the same as that of the FD1200mm f/5.6L prototype, this lens is optimized for the EF cameras system with non-linear focusing, a focus preset function, and 3-speed manual focus.
The lens employs a ring USM rear focusing system with FTM. It is capable of quickly switching between portrait and landscape formats. The 1200mm f/5.6L USM is compatible with EF1.4x or EF2.0х extenders (8/1700mm or 11/2400 mm respectively). The lens is equipped with a built-in hood.
