The Olympus OM-System Zuiko Auto-S 55 mm f/ 1.2 is a legendary ultra fast "fifty" for Olympus Om cameras.
At f/1.2 the lens functions all right.
It generates very flexible picture when wide open. It produces magnificent bokeh, nice color rendering. It is a good portrait lens.
At f/ 1.2 it is already rather sharp, and from f/2 onward it is very sharp.
It features low contrast at f /1.2 and medium when stopping down.
It came in two variants:
The first version of the Olympus OM-System 55 mm f/ 1.2 with single-layer coating (silver filter ring).
This version used radioactive thorium coating. Thisvideo demonstrates radiation measurement.

The second version of the Olympus OM -System 55 mm f/ 1.2 with single-layer coating (black fringe of the filter).
This version did not use radioactive coating.
It can be easily mounted on modern SRL and mirrorless cameras by means of adapters.
TheOlympus OM -System Zuiko Auto-S 55 mm f/ 1.2 is a good choice as a portrait lens, a lens for artistic photography and for shooting where shallow depth of field is important.
Later on its production was discontinued and it was replaced with the Olympus OM -System Zuiko Auto-S 50 mm f/ 1.2
