Meteor-8M-1 9-38mm f/1.8 (Метеор-8М-1 on russian) is standart zoom lens for 8mm USSR cameras Quartz-1 and Quartz-2 (Кварц on russian).

Optical "Meteor" circuit consists of 18 elements in the overall frame. From 5 lenses in 4 main components is the lens focused on the "infinity", and 13 lenses in 9 components form the afocal attachment. Afocal attachment is an element of variable zoom and focus systems. The second and third components are designed to change the focal length, and the third and fifth to correct aberrations. Focusing is performed first component.
