Yashica ML 28-85 mm f/ 3.5-4.5 Lens

Yashica ML 28-85mm f/3.5-4.5 Macro is a premium quality zoom lens of metal construction, though unlike the 28-50, this is a one-touch zoom.  It is superior to the later ML 28-80 lens, being sharper, with minimal distortion, even illumination.  It has an excellent macro function up to a ratio of 1:4.

Although a little slower than its Carl Zeiss cousin, it is only in the extreme edges of photos that the more expensive lens has the edge - and the Yashica has the edge in general usability due to its macro capability. 

It's a lens that I often carry and gets more use than my Zeiss 28-85.
