beautiful smooth bokeh, neutral color rendering, excellent sharpness, very good af performance, solid build, weather sealed, good contrast, vibration compensation (VC) - this is only one 85mm prime lens for dslr with optical stabilization.
Weaknesses:
Well sometimes you can see a chromatic aberrations, purple fringing on metal elements for example, it is sharp however you have to take into account a callibration via tamron tap console because of front-focus, very rare - lower contrast when you have a sun in the frame.
Comments:
I used this prime lens on D750, with this body everything works very well even in low light situation. I recommend this lens to everybody who likes a typical portraiture photography. This optical formula was so good that on the basis of it Batis 85mm f1.8 was created by Zeiss. When I skipped from Nikon to Sony mirrorless camera I really regretted that cannot use this lens for Sony body...there is no exist native mount for Sony...you can use adapter Sigma MC-11 when you buy version with Cannon mount but it is not a native mount.
