The Minolta MC Rokkor-PF 85mm f/1.7 is a fast tele prime lens for Minolta SR SLR cameras.

This is the MC-II Version of the 85mm F1.7 Rokkor: "hill and valley" knurled focus ring (in German called: "Berg und Tal") from 1970. Three years later, 1973, the focus ring design changed to MC-X version: rubber focus ring.

The optical design of these two Versions were identical.

The 85mm F1.7 Rokkor is a little bit soft wide open, very suiteble for portrait photos. But already from F2.0 the sharpness increases strongly.
