The Canon EF-S 18-55 mm f/ 3.5-5.6 IS II is a standard zoom lens for small format digital cameras only:

• the Canon EOS 600D (Rebel T3i / Kiss X50)
• the Canon EOS 1100D (Rebel T3 / Kiss X5)

As compared with the previous version, the 18-55 IS resolution (according to Lens Tip tests) is 5 lpmm as high when wide open and up to 10 lpmm as high especially at 18 mm. Resolution on the edges is almost the same, but the new lens has better resolution at 55 mm.
