Additional information:
The Canon EF 70-200 mm f/ 2.8 L IS II USM is a professional telephoto zoom lens equipped with the system of image stabilizer for Canon EOS film and digital cameras.
When used on APS-C cameras (crop factor), the equivalent focal length is 112 - 320 mm.
As different from the previous version, the Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8L IS USM is equipped with a built-in 3-stop image stabilizer, an update optical scheme with a greater number of elements and groups, and features a greater weight and length. This version also features a new circle aperture, minimum focusing distance was reduced by10 cm.
With a 2.8 lens speed and the image stabilizer the Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8 L IS USM enables you in even better and simpler way to shoot in poor lighting conditions without a tripod and a flash.
It is rather sharp at f/2.8. From f/ 4 onward it is very sharp, but noticeably less sharp than the variant without the IS. The IS lens is more useful for portraiture.
The USM makes focusing fast and virtually silent.
The optical scheme of the Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8L IS USM includes four UD elements which correct aberrations and make the image more contrastive and sharper.
For a convenient use of polarizing and gradient filters the front lens is non-rotating.
The Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8 L IS USM is dust and moisture protected.
It is equipped with B-type tripod mount ring. The maximum IS deflection is approximately 1.22 mm; the maximum correction angle of the IS is approximately 0.5°(in telephoto position). The IS compatibility with EF 1.4xII and EF 2xII extenders is fully functional.
It is possible to use the EF 1.4xII extender throughout the range of focal lengths of 98-280 mm at f/4 or the EF 2xII extender throughout the range of focal lengths of 140-400 mm at f/5.6.
