This is a twin brother of the Samyang 8 mm f/3.5. It has been manufactured under the trade mark of  Vivitar since 2009, as well as under other brand names: the Falcon 8 mm, the Bower 8 mm, the Phoenix 8 mm, the Polar 8 mm, the Rokinon 8 mm, the Walimex 8 mm, the Opteka 6.5 mm.

Many users note that focal length of the lens is closer to 8.5 mm.
