Additional information:
The Meopta Stigmar 1.25 / 55 is an extreme fast projector lens.
The lens is completely made of glass and aluminum alloy.
There were two versions of Barrel but the lens design was identical.
Stigmar lenses with focal lengths of 30mm and below were fitted to 8mm projectors such as Optilux and Meo 8. Focal lengths of 45mm and above were fitted to 16mm projectors such as Meopton I, II and Meopta 16.
This lens was primarily for 16mm film projectors with Ø52,5mm mount, but can also be used on mirrorless cameras with APS-C sensors or smaller if modified accordingly.
To do this, however, the rear lens must be able to dive into the camera mount for focusing to infinity. The rear lens must be brought at least up to 21mm from the sensor (back focal distance).
Before machining on a lathe, the rear lens block must be fixed by using three M3x3 set screws (ISO 4027, see Figur 6) with a 120° offset.
35mm full frame sensors and above are not useful due to vignetting.
The 55mm Stigmar has good center sharpness for such a fast lens and a subtle border swirl in the bokeh.
The background blur in the center is very soft an smooth.
