Additional information:
The Canon EF 15 mm f/ 2.8 Fisheye is an ultrawide lens without any distortion correction (Fisheye scheme) for Canon EOS film and digital cameras. It provides a 180° diagonal angle of view. As for today, it is the only Fisheye lens for the Canon EF bayonet mount made by Canon itself.
As well as every Fisheye lens, this one produces a specific distorted and "twisted" image at the corners. It is used for achieving various artistic effects. By the way, when shooting a natural landscape, the effect is not so evident.
With a 2.8 lens speed the lens enables you to photograph in a better and simpler way even in poor lighting conditions without a tripod or a flash.
The Canon EF 15 f/2.8 Fisheye produces a sharp picture at f/2.8 already. And it is very sharp from f/4 onwards.
A built-in motor makes focusing rather fast, but of course not so fast and quiet as in USM lenses. Focusing is internal.
The front convex element makes it impossible to attach screw mount filters. Gelatin filters may be used in the rear part of the lens.
It provides beautiful color rendering, and is well resistant to back and side light. It is equipped with a small built-in petal-type hood.
The Canon EF 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye is very useful for landscape, architecture, interior and genre photography.
