Additional information:
The Canon EF 24 mm f/ 1.4 L II USM is an update version of a wide-angle professional L-series lens with optimized optical scheme for digital camera sensors.
It is different from the previous version with a new optical scheme which considerably reduces drops in resolution at the frame corners; with a new Subwavelength Structure Coating (SWC) coating of one element, minimizing rereflections and flare spots; with a greater weight and size; with an update ring-type ultra-sonic motor.
The optical scheme includes aspherical elements and ultra low dispersion elements, which minimizes aberrations and has a positive effect on color and contrast rendering.
With a wide angle and lens speed of 1.4 this lens allows you to take high-quality pictures in bad light conditions without a tripod or a flash.
It is rather sharp at f/1.4. And it is very sharp from f/2 onwards. It has a circular 8-blade aperture.
The updated built-in ring-type ultra-sonic motor (USM) makes focusing fast and silent. Focusing is internal. Manual focusing can be switched on at any time by turning the focus ring. The font part of the Canon EF 24mm f/1.4 L II USM does not rotate on focusing, which enables the use of special attachments, as well as gradient and polarizing filters.
The lens is even better resistant to back and side light than is the previous version. The loss of resolution on the edges has been practically neutralized. Vignetting is quite notable at f/ 1.4, but after stopping down to f/2, it is almost invisible.
Canon EF 24mm f/1.4L USM II is useful for landscape, architecture, interior and genre photography. It is ideally fit for video shooting on modern SLR cameras.
Compatible hood: EW-83K
The lens comes completed with a hood and a soft case.
