The Nikon Nikkor 45 mm f/ 2.8 P is a normal fast lens with Super Integrated Coating for 35 mm SLR Nikon F cameras.

This is extreme compact and lightweight lens of the Nikkor lineup. It is based on the Tessar optical scheme.

The Nikon "pancake" features a built-in CPU, which enables aperture data output to the camera, aperture control from the camera, EXIF data storage, as well as working exposure measurement on D90 cameras.

The prototype of the lens - the Nikkor 45 mm f/ 2.8 GN - was specially released in 1968 to facilitate the use of a flash.
