The Nikon Noct Nikkor 58 mm f/ 1.2 Ai-S is an ultra fast standard prime lens.

The Ai versionwith the same optical scheme was presented by Nikon in 1977 and had been manufactured till1981, when it was replaced with the Ai-S version, which differs from the Ai in the number of blades (Ai-S - 9 vs. Ai - 7) and weight (Ai-S - 470 g vs. Ai - 480 g).

For 20 years there were 2500 Ai lenses and 9000 Ai-S lenses produced.

Diagonal angle of view 40.8°.

The optical scheme of the Nikon Noct-Nikkor 58mm f/1.2 Ai-s lens consists of seven elements in six groups, including an aspherical element. All optical elements of the lens are multicoated.

The Nikon Noct-Nikkor 58 mm f/ 1.2 Ai-s is optimized for shooting in low-level-light conditions.
