I have the Nikon version.  The lens is about the same as the Nikon counterpart sharpness wise.  However I notice autofocus problems in low light more so with the Tamron than the Nikkor 28-300 I borrowed.

This is not a game changer for me.  It's very usable and handy.  Manual focus in automatic mode is easy to fix the low light problem.  I like it.

I will post some images once the gray skies end of Winter.
