Hi there!

Can anyone tell me how to distinguish the two versions of this lens? Does the mark at the inner front ring (with the label, the serial #, etc.) indicates the "better" version?

On this note: I think that both lenses are preset lenses. In case I don't get this term wrong. If anyone can explain it in detail, I would appreciate it very much.
