Additional information:

The TOZ-500 500 mm f/ 3.5 (Russian: "ТОЗ")  is a fast telephoto mirror aspherical coated lens for 35 mm SLR cameras with the M39 screw mount.

TOZ stands for Telephoto Mirror Lens.

The TOZ-500 employs the optical schemes designed by Cassegrain and Ritchey-Chrétien.

The use of aspherical elements (primary mirrors are concave paraboloids or hyperboloids, secondary mirrors are convex hyperboloids, manufactured by means of vacuum aspherization) makes it possible to fundamentally increase lens speed, though it has affected the lens size.

The pilot models of the TOZ-500 500 mm f/ 3.5 were manufactured in the early 1960's at the KMZ.
