Owner reviews: Minolta MD 50 mm f/ 1.7

ProfHankD 06.01.2016 07:06:43
Period of use: 72 months

Strengths:

Very much like the MC Rokkor PF 50mm f/1.7, but smaller than the older versions.

Weaknesses:

Very much like the MC Rokkor PF 50mm f/1.7... but seems somehow optically not quite as good. Hard to say why; it's a very small difference that's not even obvious in side-by-side comparison. Build quality is still excellent, but a notch down from the earlier models. APS-C still suffers soft corners until you stop down.

Comments:

Still an excellent very cheap kit lens. Makes a great first manual focus lens for a mirrorless user who wants something smaller.
