The lens body is made of metal.. The aperture ring has  half-stop markings (from f/2.8 to f/16).

SP (Super Performance) - the lineup of Tamron best lenses.

According to the reviews, at open aperture the Tamron SP 90 mm f/ 2.5 Adaptall-2 is  perfect for portrait photography.

Later on Tamron released another variant (model 52BB) of the lens with a different filter diameter and body design. The other characteristics are the same.

Owner reviews: Tamron SP 90 mm f/ 2.5 Adaptall-2 model 52B

teredactle 02.04.2017 22:22:23
Period of use: 2 years

Strengths:

Great glass, very sharp

Weaknesses:

Super heavy, especially with the 2x extension it makes the lens longer and puts a lot of strain on the camera body weight wise; my wrist hurts each time I use it for more than 15 mins, if I don't support the lens by the body

Comments:

Love the performance, picked this up for around $45, great macro!
